All other things being equal, the faster player is the most effective, right?
Injury means losing your place on the team.
Being skilful and understanding their sport is obviously important as well. But they receive that coaching from their club.
Who teaches your child how to run?
How to accelerate quickly and change direction?
How are they going to develop the physical characteristics required to further develop their game?
What work are they doing to cope with growth spurts without getting injured and effecting their co-ordination?
95% of the games of football and rugby are spent without the ball. Don’t you think athleticism is going to help them get more active play AND be more effective when they do?
Why leave this side of their development to chance?
FUTURE CHAMPIONS has been designed specifically to develop the athleticism missing from sport specific training.
It GUARANTEES to improve your child’s speed and athleticism regardless of the sport. This multi directional speed and agility programme is like nothing you have ever experienced before.
Speed, strength and athleticism are the foundations on which skill and performance is built.
They are a vital component to performing any field or court sport.
Speed and agility training is now a popular part of most training programmes, but it’s rarely coached progressively or individually. Instead, most coaches rely on drills and session plans created by someone else. Usually from a website or another coach.
Drills aren’t the magic. Good coaching is.
A good coach uses a drill or exercise as a catalyst for a learning experience. This requires expertise in the area.
Multi-directional speed is a skill and should be developed as such.
It takes hours of purposeful practice to perfect a skill. You can’t TRAIN just by doing. If you’re doing it badly then you’re reinforcing poor movement
There are windows in a young athlete’s development when doing the right thing can make or break their future health as well as their sporting career.
Rapid growth and physical change can often leave pre-adolescent players with reduced co-ordination, tight muscles and compensated movement patterns.
At Speed Academy, we develop Future Champions through a seamlessly integrated system of coaching great movement, relative strength, power, balance and mobility while encouraging a progressive mentality and educating about nutrition, sleep and recovery.
INJURY PREVENTION
At Speed Academy, everybody goes through a Functional Movement Screen to ensure movement pattern issues aren’t holding them back. It also highlights any movement dysfunction or asymmetry that could lead to injury.
The Future Champions programme has been developed to help young athletes maximise their potential by building strong foundations of athleticism along with a work ethic and progressive mentality.
POSITIVE EFFECT ON SPORT SPECIFIC SKILL
To develop a skill, you must first have the physical capability of carrying it out.
As a by product of developing their foundations of balance, speed, athleticism, strength and endurance, skill levels and tactical awareness significantly improve. This in turn boosts effectiveness and self confidence.
