Nobody looked at how you move before handing you a list of exercises. A Movement Profile fixes that in 75 minutes — you leave knowing which movements are your superpower, which ones are holding you back, and which are quietly setting up an injury.
The report doesn't hand you vague advice about mobility. It sorts the movements you actually do in the gym into three groups, and tells you why each one landed where it did.
Your superpower — the movements your body is organised well enough to take real weight on. These are where your progress is going to come from, so you train them hard instead of spreading effort thinly across everything.
Movements you can do, but not yet under load worth having. You get the specific corrective work that closes the gap, and a clear marker for when the exercise graduates into the first group.
Movements that will cost you if you keep loading them. Usually they feel fine today — that's the problem. You get a substitute that trains the same quality without the bill arriving in six months.
Most programmes start from what you want — bigger, faster, leaner — and work backwards. That's a reasonable place to start if everybody's body arrived in the same condition. They didn't. Old injuries, desk jobs, the sport you played at twenty and the one you play now all leave an organised pattern behind, and your body is very good at hiding it.
It hides it by compensating. You still finish the lift, still hit the number, still look fine doing it. The compensation is the thing that eventually hurts, and it's invisible in anything that measures the result of the movement rather than the movement itself.
Strength training is coordination training under load. If the pattern isn't stable, adding weight rehearses the fault.
So the profile looks at how, not how much. Where you're moving well, we load it. Where you're compensating, we find out why before it becomes an injury you're rehabbing rather than a tweak you're fixing.
It starts with movements you've never been taught, and that's deliberate. If you don't know what a task is supposed to look like, you can't perform the version you think I want — so what I get is how your body actually prefers to solve the problem.
Training history, old injuries, what you're chasing, what's been niggling. Ten minutes here saves a lot of guessing later.
Skips with different arm actions, bear crawls, crab walks, caterpillars, hanging, moving backwards. Unfamiliar on purpose, and more fun than it sounds. With no idea what the "right" answer looks like, your body defaults to its own preferences — which is exactly what I'm here to see.
Several tasks come back to the same pattern from a different angle. If something looks restricted once, that might just be you reading the task differently. If it shows up again, it's real. This is what separates a genuine constraint from a misunderstanding.
The recognised assessments, scored the same way every time. These are the repeatable, comparable part — so when you come back in six months, we can measure what actually changed.
Finally, the things you repeat every day — your sport, your job, the lifts in your programme. Seeing a pattern in isolation is useful. Seeing it in the movement you do five hundred times a week is what makes the report specific to you.
Written up and with you within 48 hours — every exercise sorted, every correction specified, and a warm-up built for your body rather than a generic one.
Yours to keep, and yours to use with whoever you train with.
Plug it straight into the programme you're already following, or bring it to your own coach. There's no obligation to train with me afterwards.
Plenty of people take the report and run with it. If you'd rather have the programme built and the execution checked every week, the profile is where that starts — it's the assessment everything else is designed from.
