Youth Speed Training

SPEED-POWER-STRENGTH-AGILITY-PERFORMANCE

If you’re here, reading this web site, it’s quite likely you are searching for the best youth speed training programme to help your child reach his/her potential in sports.

Youth speed training

We specialise in helping players that are:

  • Struggling with growth related injuries
  • Small for their age
  • Out of form since growth spurts
  • ‘Talented’ but don’t move naturally

There is no athlete too weak or too slow to train here. We will get you stronger, faster, more explosive and more confident, that’s a promise.

In as little as 6 weeks, our athletes begin experiencing dramatic improvements in their:

  •  Acceleration
  •  Deceleration
  •  Change of direction
  •  Jumping ability
  •  Running technique
  •  Total body strength and mobility

The Speed Academy System has been proven by hundreds of athletes.

This is probably NOT an opportunity you had as a child.

Our methods are specifically geared towards the long term athletic development of your child. Isolating weak points and turning them into strong points and developing overall athleticism that will apply to their sport.

Many clubs and coaches incorporate SAQ type techniques in their training.

I’ve found that drills don’t make you faster. Good quality coaching does.

And coaching is a process that takes someone on a journey.  This takes knowledge and years of experience to know what each person needs to take them forward.

Future Champions is currently divided into three different levels.

FUNdamental (typically aged 9-11)

During this important time in a child’s life, youth athletes are in their “skill-hungry” years. The body is primed for new information and ready to ingrain new movement patterns. The Youth program is conducted in 60 minute sessions and designed to introduce and create foundations of overall athleticism in a fun, positive, and high-success environment.

Our Youth curriculum places a high priority on running technique, athletic coordination, balance, mobility and relative strength. These are vital in establishing a child’s athletic foundation for improved performance, injury prevention, and long-term enjoyment of sports participation.

Time: Monday 17:30

Venue: White Rose Crossfit , Lister Hill, Horsforth, LS18 5AZ

Future Champions Level I

Aimed at pre-adolescent athletes (typically school years 7-9) the programme focuses on the fundamental skills of accelerating, sprinting, stopping, changing direction, throwing, jumping, coordination and balance. This is the most critical time for establishing precise, efficient and co-ordinated movement.

These are all natural movement patterns that should be instinctive. However, modern lifestyle, ill advised coaching, growth spurts and hormonal changes have a massive impact on their movement capability. Until the physical limitations such as strength, stability and mobility are addressed, skills will be impossible to learn.

The Speed Academy strength programme will benefit the young athlete by:

    • Focusing on movement techniques with increased force to maximise potential
    • Reducing the chance of injury as the young athlete naturally increases in height, weight and strength
    • Build foundations that are as deep as they are wide – establishing future performance potential

Time:     Monday 18:30    Tuesday 19:00    and    Wednesday 19:00
